The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: When I was taken up to heaven I passed by people who had nails of copper and were scratching their faces and their breasts. I said: Who are these people, Gabriel? He replied: They are those who were given to backbiting and who aspersed people's honor.

جب مجھے معراج کرائی گئی، تو میرا گزر ایسے لوگوں پر سے ہوا، جن کے ناخن تانبے کے تھے اور وہ ان سے اپنے منہ اور سینے نوچ رہے تھے، میں نے پوچھا: جبرائیل! یہ کون لوگ ہیں؟ کہا: یہ وہ ہیں جو لوگوں کا گوشت کھاتے ( غیبت کرتے ) اور ان کی بے عزتی کرتے تھے
